Great North Run
It started with Park Run… I’m not a runner but I really enjoy Park Run. It’s for everyone: you can run or walk 5 kilometres, or you can volunteer. It’s not competitive but it can be. Somehow, I’ve agreed to run in the Great North Run which is a bit longer!
I’m part of the Four on the Run! team which is a blend of youth and (mainly) experience.
Four on the Run! from left to right: James, Angela, Christine and me at the Fountains Abbey Park Run.
In terms of Park Run, we have 575 runs (2,875 kilometres) between us with Christine (224) and Angela (187) way out in the lead. Although James leads on speed!
We are raising funds for North Yorkshire Hospice Care – a local charity that offers care and support to people across the communities of North Yorkshire affected by terminal illness and bereavement. The charity comprises St Michael’s Hospice, which supports families across Harrogate district, and Herriot Hospice Homecare, which provides support across the communities of Hambleton and Richmondshire.
Although North Yorkshire Home Care is one charity, funds are raised separately for St Michael’s Hospice (purple t-shirt) and Herriot Hospice Homecare (orange t-shirt). Angela’s husband and James’s dad, Tim, was an actuary at Aviva who sadly passed away in 2017. He received excellent care at St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate in the last few weeks of his life.
We would love if you would donate to the charity and our team page is here. Feel free to donate to the person/charity of your choice.
Park Run 6th July
As part of the fundraising, Mowatt Financial Planning will donate £20 for all clients and professional connections who take part in a Park Run on 6 th July. It would be great to get as big a crowd as possible to Millfield Park in Easingwold on the 6th. Come along to run, walk, spectate or eat chocolate. There will be chocolate!

We would like everyone to wear a purple or orange t-shirt so we can pick you out in the crowd.
All support very much appreciated.
Further updates to follow.
